Our Company
The team includes naval architects, structural engineers, hydrodynamicists, exterior and interior designers — all alumni of Europe's leading design institutions, such as Southampton University & Institute, Coventry University, ELISAVA design school and renowned Italian schools for interior design.

In the heart of the Mediterranean
With two strategic bases in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca — at the very centre of the Mediterranean superyacht circuit — SYCS puts a team of high-tech superyacht experts on site exactly when and where they are needed. Working in close collaboration with owners, captains and shipyards, the team provides continuous oversight, clear communication and technical alignment, enabling efficient decision-making and delivering cohesive results on time and within budget.

Our team includes alumni from leading European design institutions such as University of Southampton, Coventry University, ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering, and top Italian interior design schools.

All engineering, design and technical capabilities are kept in-house, ensuring quality control, intellectual continuity and rapid response to custom requests — including small-scale production runs and rapid prototyping.
03 — Our founders
Co-founded by Raúl Gonzalo and Tià Simó, SYCS is built on decades of hands-on expertise in the superyacht market. Their combined experience spans refit, new build, composite engineering and yacht design — forming the backbone of the company's technical credibility and client relationships. Together they are also founders of BYD Group (Bravo Yacht Design Group).
Raúl Gonzalo
Heading the engineering department
With a graduation in Yacht & Boat Design from the Southampton Institute, he specialized in CATIA-based engineering and advanced digital solutions.
Tià Simó
Leading the design department
A naval architect with a BEng in Naval Science from the University of Southampton, he brings over 20 years of experience blending innovation and an efficient mindset with a sensibility for sustainable policies.
04 — Our heritage
BYD Group
Design, naval architecture, engineering.
As part of BYD Group (Bravo Yacht Design Group), SYCS is bringing together the full design-to-installation chain under one roof: from concept and engineering to production and on-board integration — working on both proprietary projects and third-party designs. SYCS benefits from integrated access to an established network of expertise in naval architecture, structural engineering, interior design, project management and 3D technologies.
BYD Group was founded in 2004 and is managed by Tià Simó and Raúl Gonzalo. Based in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, it offers a complete design and naval architecture service for new construction as well as refits, working in partnership with yacht builders or directly with yacht owners themselves.
